Vermont's primary industries are tourism-particularly skiing, real estate and insurance. Agriculturally, the main crops are maple syrup and dairy. Its natural resources that are mined are marble, slate and granite.

Vermont has a humid continental climate, very cold winters, often reaching -10 °F; and warm, humid summers with highs around 80 °F. The record coldest temperature was -50 °F and the record high was 101 °F.
