Court Records Nevada

Nevada joined the Union in 1864 as the 36th state. Nevada's population is about 2.6 million. The state capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas, with a population of 103,994. Nevada borders on Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon and Idaho.

Nevada's nickname is the Silver State, because of the large amounts of silver deposits that have been discovered and mined in the state.

The state is most known for quick and easy marriages and divorces, casinos, legalized prostitution and gambling.

Nevada's primary industries are mining, tourism, machinery, food processing, printing and publishing and electric equipment. Agriculturally, the main crops are potatoes, hay, cattle, alfalfa, onions and dairy products. Natural resources that are mined in Nevada include gold, silver, gypsum, copper, lithium and diatomite.

Nevada is primarily desert and semiarid climate areas. Temperatures in the summer can get as high as 115 °F and winter temperatures may go as low as −10 °F at night. Winters in the south of the state are generally short and mild though.

Vital Records (birth, death, divorce or marriage) for the State of Nevada after 1911 can be obtained at the Nevada Vital Statistics Division.
